I have been having quite a lot of Chili Crab restaurant such as No Sign Board. But these high class ones are mostly for foreigners like myself. Having living here more than an year I was looking for more inexpensive, down to earth style restaurant where I can try Chili Crab. G7 Liang Kee Restaurant at no737 Havelock Road 169653, is one of the restaurant I was recommended. The place was fairly full with locals, though it was in the middle of weekday.
Chili crab per kg is around 38sgd and it included lots of meat! Though I failed to identify whether they served the famous sweet bun, the menu they had seem to cover quite a variety. It is highly recommended to book to get hold of the crabs. You may need to have some command of Mandarin, especially when you book via phone, as some waitress speak little English.
I have been living in Singapore for over two years now. I am blogging my thoughts on restaurants, shops and anywhere/anything related to my living and traveling experience in general.

Jang Shou Korean BBQ (in Esplanade)
Honestly, I have not explored much in Singapore, but let me introduce you to one in Esplanade: Jang Shou Korean BBQ. It is located on ground level of Esplanade, along the outdoor corridor between taxi stand and bay view area.
This is not an inexpensive restaurant ( 200SGD for a family) but it can be worth it if you are looking for attentive service in Korean BBQ: all BBQ is taken care of by the waitress, and amount is not too bad.

Long Bar Steak house
Just right next to the famous Long Bar in Raffles Hotel is the Long Bar steak house. Good for anniversary, business occasion etc. The waiter/waitress service is very warm and pleasant. I did not have to struggle so much about which wine, side dish to chose .
The steaks are not much of large size as I expected, but it is rightly shown on menu, such as 200g wagyu red eye
Mayura, etc. if you are going for the amount, I suggest you try the 800g for two set.
The red wine we opened was so smooth to our palette.

Gua Sha massage
I was quite surprised to see my helper being scrubbed at her back quite severely up to the point where she had internal bleeding scar all over her shoulder. To my surprising, no one around me was surprised at all but just calmly watching. Then they tell me that this is one of the folk medical treatment popular in Indonesia.
I do not have my own photo but there is one for your reference:

Chicken Rice stalls in Singapore (Boon Tong Kee, Chatterbox, Tian Tian)
Singapore food: first thing comes my mind the Hainanese Chicken Rice (海南鶏飯)。There are so many outlets, where are the popular ones?
Let me
present my version of "must try" outlets.
Boon Tong Kee (文東記). www.boontongkee.com.sg
The one in Ballestair road is the main branch followed by outlets in River Valley Road, Mc Phearson road etc.
2nd up: Chatterbox in Mandarin Oriental Orchard. Very expensive "SGD20" but will you the nice atmosphere with neat set of chicken rice. Good for business occasion but out of budget for our daily staple.
3rd up:
天天海南鶏飯
Situated in Maxwell hawker with a sister branch located at Maxwell hawker centre.
There is always long queue, but if you come early as 11:00 you may beat the crowd!

Kikko Stand Eat Sushi (in Funabashi Japan)
Have you ever tried stand eat sushi 立喰寿司? If you have not, sorry I have to say you have not explored the original, authentic style sushi. In traditional ones, you also use your finger to eat sushi. Where can you find one? I do not know any in Singapore, but I can point out two shops and one chain in Greater Tokyo.
Let me introduce you the first up here; 吉光 (Kikko) in Funabashi city in Chiba prefecture (船橋市本町6-4). Walking from the north exit of JR Funabashi station towards north, turn right at the first crossing. On the left side of road passing by a car park, you will find little hut type building. You just see a counter without any seat. You just come in empty slots and order whenever you want to. A la carte or set is what you can order. I would recommend you the 1200JPY set. (see the pics)

Otto Ristorante
I have to confess, that though I am Japanese native, I still have preference not to eat particular popular Japanese dish. However, for Italian food, I love most dishes, needless to mention especially for pasta.
Now, in Singapore, I have not been so lucky to find a nice Italian restaurant until this time when I went to "Otto Ristorante" in 28 Maxwell Road, in Red Dot Traffic Building Ground Level.
There is a bar "al freco"in the back end and a restaurant on the left side, once you enter a chic style entrance. You may be greeted by Italian butler(?) and taken to one of dining area which can fit 80 pax. The dinner course comes with choices of three different courses, which are 6 dish, or 5 dish or Vegetarian. Alternatively you may choose a la carte.I tried the 5 dish with beef. The side dish bread is something worth picking, though I warn you not to munch too much. This is certainly one of the nicest Italian in Singapore.
